Employee Spotlight on Colleen Rak

Literacy West employees have been given the opportunity to nominate a staff member in recognition of their hard work and dedication to the organization. This month’s employee spotlight was nominated for always lending a helping hand and stepping up to support our other sites and staff.

Our May employee spotlight goes to…. Colleen Rak!

“I have nominated Colleen for her flexibility and willingness to help us out here in Mt. Morris with intakes and other site coordinator duties. She has been very kind and helpful to both me and John.  Colleen takes time out of her already very busy schedule to make the drive out here and assist us with whatever is needed.”– Jess

“I agree with this nomination and second it!” – John

I have been working in the nonprofit and human services field since 2003. Since then I have discovered a passion for helping people grow into the best versions of themselves. Since starting at CORE in August 2021, my coworkers and students remind me daily of why I choose to do what I do. I am a firm believer that a person’s past does not determine their future. I am thankful for my job and can honestly say that I have found a career that I truly love!
