Digital Access & Literacy
The Community Resource Room provides free access to computers, internet, printers, and hands-on staff support to help community members build essential digital skills. We offer digital literacy classes that cover email, online navigation, document management, and safe internet practices, along with one-on-one tutoring for personalized assistance. Participants can also earn recognized digital literacy certificates, including NorthStar, to strengthen their credentials and increase their confidence in navigating technology for work, education, and daily life.
Employment & Career Services
Our employment services help individuals prepare for the workforce with personalized support and practical guidance. Visitors can receive assistance with résumés, cover letters, job applications, and interview preparation. Weekly workshops focus on job searching, workplace expectations, and career planning, while staff also provide help with FAFSA, training enrollment, and exploring new career pathways. Whether entering the workforce or seeking a change, the CRR equips individuals with the tools and confidence needed to advance their employment goals.
Telehealth & Social Services Access
The CRR offers a private, secure space for telehealth appointments and access to essential online services. Individuals can meet virtually with medical providers, counselors, and specialists in a confidential setting. Staff also help community members navigate health insurance portals and complete applications for benefits such as SNAP, HEAP, and Medicaid. By providing reliable technology, guidance, and strict privacy compliance, the CRR removes barriers to receiving care and ensures access to important social service resources.
Community & Partner Workshops
The CRR hosts a wide variety of workshops delivered by local partners, service agencies, employers, and community organizations. These sessions provide valuable learning opportunities on topics such as career development, financial literacy, wellness, technology, and personal growth. Workshops are offered throughout the week, with additional evening and weekend sessions scheduled based on community needs. By partnering with trusted local organizations, the CRR expands access to resources and brings meaningful educational experiences directly to the community.
Work Readiness
To keep the community informed, the CRR distributes monthly newsletters and shares regular updates through social media and outreach events. Communications highlight upcoming classes, partner workshops, success stories, and new opportunities available in the Community Resource Room. Staff also participate in local events and collaborate with partners to spread awareness of available services. These efforts ensure residents stay connected, engaged, and aware of the many free resources offered through the CRR.
